About this site

SolverGrid (“the Service”) is a free educational tool for studying game-theory optimal (GTO) strategy in No-Limit Texas Hold’em. It provides preflop range charts, a river solver, bluff-catch practice, and a multiway equity calculator for pots with three or more players. The Service has no function for wagering money or anything of value, and does not promote or arrange gambling.

How the numbers are computed, and how exact they are (heads-up vs multiway)

In poker, a single unbeatable optimal strategy (GTO) is mathematically well definedonly in a heads-up (two-player) confrontation. This follows from von Neumann’s minimax theorem, and the river solver and preflop all-in spots on this site stay Solved exactly with CFR+ (counterfactual regret minimisation) (the same computational principle the industry-standard solvers use).

With three or more players (multiway), exact GTO does not exist in principle.there can be several equilibria with no unique answer, so even if every player picks a “correct” strategy the table as a whole need not be in equilibrium. Computing one is hard (PPAD), and collusion between other players can still exploit you. Even Pluribus, the AI that beat top human pros at 6-max poker (Brown & Sandholm, Science 2019) explicitly states that exact Nash equilibrium was never its goal.

That is why this siteThe multiway tools deliberately avoid the word “GTO” and give you only equity — the probability of winning at showdown — which is exact for any number of players. Equity is estimated by Monte-Carlo simulation, and has been verified to match the exact value from full board enumeration.

In short: heads-up spots are exact GTO, preflop charts are a standard approximation for reference, and multiway is exact equity rather than GTO. Never blurring the line between what is exact and what is approximated — and why — is the policy of this site.
